Nadica C. was an experienced candidate with many years of education that helped her develop her expertise. With a Bachelor of Arts Degree, two master's degrees, and a certificate in the English Language, she had a well-developed skillset that would make her a great asset to any company. Above all else, as Nadica searched for a job, she wanted to be with a company that shared her values.
After moving to Chicago, Nadica found herself experiencing unemployment. She made contact with Skills and was pleased by how stress-free Skills was able to make the hiring process for her. She was able to secure employment with BMO as a Retail Relationship Banker.
Since starting with BMO, Nadica has been impressed to learn that they shared many of her core values, including a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as a dedication to fostering the professional and personal development of their staff. We were thrilled to speak to her about her experience working with Skills and getting hired at BMO.
What brought you to Skills?
I first heard of Skills through Indeed when I decided to apply for my current position.
How was your experience working with the Skills staff?
Working with Skills was such an easy and smooth process. They explained the job requirements and benefits really well. Particularly the interviewer I worked with, Malaysia, was very pleasant, professional, and well informed.
Bring me back to the moment when you were hired. How did it feel?
I moved to Chicago from Massachusetts, without securing a job first, so when I was hired six weeks after I moved, it came not only as a financial relief, but it also further showed me that taking a leap of faith can lead to wonderful opportunities.
How are you liking your new job so far? How has BMO and Skills helped you grow?
I feel very fortunate to work for BMO! They are a company that places a great value on diversity and inclusion, and supports the professional, as well as personal growth of its employees.
What opportunities has this job provided for you?
Their benefits are fair, and they’re understanding the importance of work/life balance. Requesting PTO has never been easier for me. I enjoy my coaching seasons as well, and really appreciate their kind and respectful leadership style. It makes it easy to thrive in that kind of work environment.
What are your career goals and how do you feel BMO supports them?
After gaining more experience and institutional knowledge, I would like to move to another department. There are many other opportunities with BMO that I could potentially pursue.
Would you recommend Skills to other job seekers? Why or why not?
I would absolutely recommend Skills to other job seekers because Skills successfully matched me with my current employer and made the interviewing process much easier (and definitely less stressful) for me. Thank you, Skills!
